I've finally processed some more pics of my Amaryllis taken way back in January of 08. This time around, I played with lighting coming in from the side as well as reflected from above.
Today I managed to get myself out to take pictures at a small local volunteer garden (run by Edmonton Hort Society volunteers) and take pictures of the flowers there. I have a new lens now which is a Sigma 70-300mm Zoom lens with macro capabilities in the 200-300 mm range. I was quite impressed with the performance although the very narrow depth of field takes some getting used to. Also, because you are zoomed in, any shake from the camera is intensified greatly making it imperative to have short shutter speeds or higher ISO's in order to freeze any movement that may occur.
